Martin Denny was one of a kind, although he developed his style with the Hawaiian sounds and moods at hand.
As an American kid whose father had come home from WWII, and had settled down in suburbs to raise a family, the Denny sound was a quick passport to the islands of enchantment...
The sounds that Martin Denny gave us will always be there, like the tides and the bird calls and gentle moods that he used. Thankfully, he has passed into the sunset, but his wonderfully exploratory music remains to enlighten and refresh us the world over.
