Hello again...

Well, time sure flies when you're having fun !
And it's about time to kick this thing back in shape - some fans are getting restless ;-)

Anyway, as someone pointed out in the comments' section of the previous share, I have deleted the link to that rip. My policy is to only share albums that are currently not available on CD. It seems safer from a copyright infringement point of view and it's more interesting to share something unique that not many people have heard of.
Well, I thought the Paul Dupont/Roger Webb LP fit the blog perfectly in that way - until I received an e-mail from a lady representing BMB Zomba who currently hold the rights to the Chappell music catalogue. Turns out a CD of that very album is available, but as production music and not for sale as such.
To make a long story short, she told me to "cease and desist" OR ELSE...!

So I deleted the link and that was that (BMB thanked me afterwards and I have no hard feelings about this or them. They're just doing their work and were quite courteous).

It did make me wonder if and how I will share other library album rips, though. It is a shady area, copyright wise and those production music companies have quite a rep about guarding the rights to their music.

Can't say I've solved this dilemma yet.

I think this fact yuo mentioned here about your previous post can measure distance between a public blog and a private forum.
I can figure this as a tragedy in the original sense of the Greek ancient world: two or more strong points of view fighting one against each other. I mean, isn't true every vinyl rip or share is illegal? From the other side it's interesting and curious also uploaders want to have their credits as if they really create something, that is a kind of copyright on something being deprived of market status provided that it's a share (see the discussion right now between pinocchio and Mr X on Xtabay world blog): but isn't sharing or not?And from another side, why some blog keep on steal those links? 'cause the result of links'publicity is r@pidshare is currently deleting blogs' links for the great and strange amount of downloads and for complaints received (see the last topic on whoops and monone blogs).
I think laws cannot only reach the deep of my soul, my ideas, that's the only space really free, that's the rest of a libertine philosophy.
Soundsational told me the next way is opening a private forum.
In such a way I don't offer my preciuos sharing work so blatantly, I do respect someone wanting to sell his music and to make his business and probably those fu..ing morons won't delete links anymore for complaints, blabla.
More and more to discuss.....
my regards
