Oswald d'Andrea : Starting-Music Auto
Polydor 46 151, France 196x

Back in the swing of things (as my pal Magnus from Bellybongo would say) and back with another Oswald d'Andrea album. One of my favorite French composers from the golden era of the 60s when the scene was rife with wild original talent (such as Michel Legrand, Jacques Denjean, Alain Goraguer, Michel Magne to name but a few...)

While d'Andrea's name rarely rings a bell as loud as the other luminaries' in that list, he has his own unmistakable style.
Also, he seemed to enjoy working on concept albums. Le Temps was a previous share at Space Debris - 12 tracks about Time... Le Zodiac is another in that series and also comes with heavy duty philosophical liner notes...

This is an earlier effort and one of his most succesful. You get mad themes with orchestral jazz arrangements (continental style), backed by wordless choirs
As you can tell from the cover and the title, it's all about cars, tech-speak and speed... Ah - to go back to the 60s when revving your heap wasn't yet linked to environmental issues...

Enjoy this unique Space Debris rip !
