Update
I was planning to upload a new album this week but try to track down a bug in the ripping process first. (I hear this short tick of digital distortion that seems to come from nowhere.) I'm working on it, so once that's out of the way you'll find a new LP here. This still gives you some time to download the Lavoute LP if you haven't done so already.

Having trouble with your recording software? Google 'Audacity' and one of the first things to come up, will be a freeware multitrack audio recorder & editor called 'audacity'. Excellent features for a free product; editing & effects, noise reduction... You can install a file from the 'lame' encoder & use audacity to directly export your recordings as mp3s.
Thanx for all the cool music!!
Thanks, I looked it up and will give it a run.
I'm not sure it's the software, though - might be that iMic thingy I'm using between my mixer and the puter...
:-/
I like to create full-fidelity wav files from the LPs first, then convert those to mp3s. Just curious, is that your process?

Yeah - me too, I'm using full fidelity files (AIFF on Mac) which I later convert to mp3's at various bitrates.
Last night I used the Audacity proggie and it seemed to work rather well. I will now study the recordings with care. My first impression is that I can still hear a glitch, only less loud than when using Amadeus II.
Might be that iMic cable after all... :(
You mentioned using the iMic between the mixer and the comp.... What kind of mixer are you refering to, like a DJ type thing, crossfaders, all that? ...not that it matters, just curious. A friend is trying to find an easy way to record to his G5, but needs a proper phono preamp, w/ RIAA curve & grounding. I'm wondering what works.
I realize this'll seem self-serving -- as I can't wait to hear more of the fantastic tunes you post here -- but I hope you figure your problems out.
